All students receive a minimum of 250 minutes per class per week for English and math and meet daily for all core classes (English, Chinese, math, science, and social studies). Elective classes (PE, art, music, library, etc), meet at least once a week.

XIS classes are around 15 students each on average.

Physical textbooks are highly prized at XIS. Through the foundation of textbooks, teachers are able to use this classroom resource to catapult and activate the learning environment to a new depth of understanding.
